His right leg got stuck in the jar. He now has a retarded foot.

Venom Update

Sorry about the lack of updates. My week has been busy. However Venom has grown a full inch.

Carbonated Critter

Using what I had left in that bottle. I wanted to see what carbonated water would do to the aqua-gel.

The Gel was really bright on my lcd preview screen, so whenever it gets dark. That's me covering the light

Carbonated Lizard III part 2

I had one bottle of carbonated water left. The water in the tank was flat, so I dumped some of the water out and filled it with the carbonated water.

These are a few videos I took, merged into one.

The reason I had a few is because his progress kept changing. I was doing another experiment as he started to float, hence why you see him just floating. I poked at him a pick and stood him up to see if he'd go back to floating. Then I added the rest of the carbonated water, to see if anything else would happen.

As of now he is just floating in the jar. He looks to be a little bigger.

Venom Lives

Okay, I have him standing again.

Also, check out his size:

The stand I built him, couldn't hold him. the paper clips started to bend back and he fell over. Let this be a lesson kids: You can't build a cheap stand out of glue, paper clips and a CD-r.

Venom's new stand

Venom is up to 6" however, his paper clip stands are no longer working. So I rigged this up until I can figure out something more long term.

It consists of of a cd-r, three paper clips, and super glue cyanoacrylate. I use this glue for fixing broken stuff, it's pretty strong till you heat it up. But I may use a hot glue gun.

Lizard I

I'm impressed with his rapid growth. I assume it's from his center being exposed to the water.

Critter update

It's at the point where we wont see major changes hours apart from each other.

Morning Lizard III update

Expanding at a faster rate then venom. But I'm sure it's due to the carbonated water. It's like roids to them.

Lizard III update

So far so good. I'm seeing the same effects as lizard I.

Lizard Updates

Not much change. I dont expect to see any results till tonight.

Lizard I's middle is hard and yellow.

Lizard II updates

Today I end Lizard II's project. As you can see he's made no progress in two days.

I think we can say that the massive amounts of sugar we find in energy drinks and soda, might be the cause. In the 2 days I had him in the energy drink he puffed out, but never really grew. Once he drys out I have another experiment in mind for him.

Growing Critter Update

He was getting a little bit bigger so I added more aqua-gel.

Note:

In order to save bandwidth and space on photobucket. I will be moving all the video files on to youtube.

If you find a file isnt playing, it's in the process of being moved.

3:10pm update: All done, enjoy.

Lizard III

After the effects of vault, I wanted to see what pure carbonated water would do.

Here's a little shot of the label to show you nothing was added, or it has anything already in it.

Here's the test:

Oh fiddle sticks. 1 liter wasnt enough. :\
Good thing wal-mart always has low prices.

Lizard I rebirth

I've put one half of Lizard I in water to see if his center would soften up and if he'd expand any more.

Here's a little bonus for all you kids who....like......things.

Part of lizard's unthawing process.

And some Lizard I goo. I original put him in water, before the soda. As I was switching him over to the jar, this goo was left over.

Venom's full growth cycle

No midnight update tonight. I'm feeling a bit under the weather.

However, I will give you pics from the 96 hour mark.

The box claims he'll reach 9" in 96 hours
So did he?

It appears not. But It wont end here friends. I plan to leave him in the water till he reaches his maxium growth and then turns to goo.

Stingray

After what happened to Lizard I, I wanted to see if hot water effected foam toys all the same. I boiled some water on the stove and put the stingray in.

As you can see, not alot happened. So, I shut off the heat and let him sit for a bit.
Same result. So as a final test, I put him in ice cold water to see if anything might happenen. Pretty much nothing. A poster said the tea may have caused lizard I to puff up.

Lizard I's insides

And here I was hoping for a gooey carmel center.

Wise fwom your gwave!

Growing Critter midnight update

As you can see, the Dino appears to be growing as well as the gel.

On a side note:

I was reading the back of the generic grow toys, and saw the name of company who distributes them. So I googled them to see if there was a contact e-mail, or website where I could ask questions. So I could know how these toys are made. The first result was a fourm of people complaining about the dollar tree, and it's products.

Some of the comments are great. Especially the ones about the products that have a cancer warning on them.

Midnight Updates

Lizard II

Almost forgot...

Here are the items I picked up at the dollar tree today, that I plan on using over the next few weeks.

Lizard II

At 7P.M I poured in both cans of the energy drink in the picture.

It was carbonated. I expected lizard II to float like Lizard I did. So I stuck a paper clip in his back and attached a magnet to the paper clip. I wanted to see if it was enough to hold him down.

So did he sink or did he float? Watch the video to find out!

He's up to 5", can he grow 4" in 24 hours?

Late post.

This was taken at 3:45PM

Growing Critter

I visited every dollar tree in town to get more foam things. I ran across this one, Growing critter.

As you can see, it came with a Little Dino, four viles of Aqua-gel, a cup, two petri dishes and a scoop. The back seems to give you the idea that you just grow the gel and dino like normal. Too bad I dont do normal.

The experiment here, is to see if the dino can grow in the gel. We'll have to wait and see.

Nothing new to report, so here's an ass shot.

SCIENCE, Sue! It was for SCIENCE!

For people who may be new to the topic in Comics & Cartoons, or just fell on this site. The point of this blog is to keep track of the Giant Foam Growing Venom. Also, because I dont want to have to keep typing the same back story and/or updated progress from the last topic.

On Tuseday June 19th, I went to the dollar tree to look a set of small screw drivers. However they didn't sell any. I did find, burried under a stack of shrek 3 color boards a "grow your own Venom" toy. The box claimed that this 3" venom would grow to 9" in 96 hours. I had my doubts, so I made a post on Comics & Cartoons, thinking I'd get a few trolls and the "I had one of these, and it's fake. It only grew 5". " and that'd be the end of it.

However what I did not expect, was a bunch of replies wanting constant updates. Theads on Comics & Cartoons only last a few hours before they are auto deleted by the system. So some might miss out on updates. Around 30 hours, venom wasnt showing much improvment. So to keep up with interest and demand for constant updates. I went back to the dollar store on wednesday, and bought a Giant Foam Lizard. But this time, I figured I'd do something else and try a new liquid. I put Lizard in a jar, and filled it with vault. Air bubbles attacked him, and he began to float in the jar. A few hours later he absorbed most of the bubbles, and fell back down. After 15 hours he wasnt showing any signs of improvment. A poster sugested it might be due to the size of the jar. Taking that advice, I moved Lizard into a bigger jar.

Not wanting to waste any more vault, this time I decided to use green tea. In my mind you serve tea hot, so I boiled the water and poured it in without thinking it would have any major effect. As I was posting an update, Lizard began to expand at a faster rate. Soon his body turned to this jelly goo type texture. I figured it was the hot water causing this, so I ran him into the fridge hoping it would cool it down and I could save him. The fridge wasnt working fast enough so I put him in my freezer. However it was too late.

On Thursday June 21 2007 at 4:43pm, the Giant Foam Lizard was declared dead. He died in the name of science. But his death shall not go in vein, I am going to proform one final test on him. I will keep his body frozen, then on friday june 22. I plan to unthaw him in the hot summer sun, I wish to see if his body will melt away with the ice.
